Theophilus London and Kevin Parker’s long-awaited collaborative single ‘Whiplash’ is finally here.
A version of the single was previewed last year during an episode of Beats 1 with Virgil Abloh and originally dates back to 2016 where it was performed live during an event hosted by Boiler Room and Ray-Ban.
Theo and Parker previously grouped in 2018 to reinterpret Nigerian musician Steve Monite’s 1984 disco classic ‘Only You’. The cover’s new counterpart is equally as unshakable, boasting a neck snapping rhythm and lush, entheogenic synth arrangements akin to those prominent in Parker’s more recent work as Tame Impala.
