Watch the Colombian-American songwriter put her spin on 1993’s ‘Venus As A Boy’.
In the midst of a brief Australian tour, Colombian-American singer-songwriter Kali Uchis stopped by the Triple J studio to perform live in session.
In addition to performing ‘Just A Stranger’ from her 2018 album Isolation, Uchis prepared a cover of Björk’s ‘Venus As A Boy’ in keeping with the stipulations of the radio station’s “Like A Version” segment.
Watch Uchis contort the 1993 Debut classic to become resemblant of her own Colombian sensibility-riddled neo-soul arrangements whilst still staying true to the Icelandic singer’s nimble vocal runs.
