The Californian festival returns in April.
The 2019 lineup for California’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has arrived and features headlining sets from Childish Gambino, Tame Impala and Ariana Grande. The festival’s 2019 iteration will take place over the weekends of April 12th-14th and 19th-21st.
Glover’s Childish Gambino set will take Friday’s top billing with Kevin Parker’s psychedelic rock troupe Tame Impala and pop sensation Ariana Grande following on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Grande fills the place of Kanye West who has now been confirmed will no longer perform at the festival in 2019 due to an impasse in negotiations with festival promoter Goldenvoice regarding West’s subjectively less conventional stage requirements. Recent performances on his Saint Pablo tour and alongside Kid Cudi as headliners at Tyler, The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw saw the rapper presented on a stage of hovering platforms and enclosed within a box suspended above the audience.
Other artists performing throughout the weekend include Solange, Anderson .Paak, Tierra Whack, Still Woozy, Cola Boyy, Four Tet, Mac DeMarco, Khruangbin and Ross From Friends.
