The multi-instrumentalist’s first offering since 2016’s As If Apart.
Chris Cohen has shared a new single entitled ‘Edit Out’.
The music arrives courtesy of Cohen’s longtime label Captured Tracks, following the former Haunted Graffiti and Deerhoof member’s acclaimed solo debut Overgrown Path and succeeding 2016 release As If Apart.
‘Edit Out’ stays in keeping with Cohen’s typically idiosyncratic and ruminative style as a nimble percussive bedrock paves the way for gentle and hypnotising melodic lines to interweave above.
LA based composer Jay Isrealson and jazz musician Kasey Knudsen provided piano and saxophone arrangements to the song respectively, marking the first time that Cohen has collaborated with others during the writing and recording process for music released under his own name.
