The band trade out comrade and collaborator Anderson .Paak on the first preview of their forthcoming debut album.

After several years of establishing themselves as a hip-hop powerhouse on the live circuit as Anderson .Paak’s backing band, The Free Nationals are now taking well-earned time to carve their own path.
‘Beauty & Essex’ is the first single from The Free Nationals’ imminently releasing debut album and sees the group – composed of Jose Rios (guitar), Ron Tnava Avant (keys), Kelsey Gonzales (bass guitar), and Callum Connor (drums) – trade our their comrade and frequent collaborator Anderson .Paak for some special guests; Daniel Caesar and Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s Ruban Nielson. In conversation with Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1, The Free Nationals discussed their debut album which, though is currently untitled, the band stated is likely to be self-titled. The band also confirmed that in addition to Daniel Caesar and UMO’s Ruban Nielson, the forthcoming LP will feature contributions from Chronixx, Kali Uchis, Mac Miller & Syd of The Internet.
