The Japanese vibraphonist is the latest to take on FACT Magazine’s 10 minute challenge.

Berlin-based musician Masayoshi Fujita is the subject of FACT magazine’s newest instalment in their Against The Clock series.
Adhering to the publication’s ten minute time limit format, the connoisseur of pitched percussion employs a vibraphone processed through a loop pedal and modular system to dazzling effect. Throughout the video Fujita stretches the sonic boundaries of his instrument of choice, making use of traditional playing styles such as bowing and mallet work, in addition to utilising more experimental techniques such as electronic processing and adorning the instrument’s bars with sheets of tin foil to create ripples of metallic ambience.
