The release precedes the Mac DeMarco and Connan Mockasin collaborator’s forthcoming sophomore album Period.
The world that Infinite Bisous envelops you within upon listening is one of melancholy, romanticism and introspection wrapped in a warm, analogue blanket. Behind the amorous guise is Loughborough-born and Paris-based multi-instrumentalist Rory McCarthy.
Previously, McCarthy cut his teeth performing as a member of Connan Mockasin and Mac DeMarco’s live bands, in addition to crafting the sprawling and funk-infused, psychedelic landscapes of Column’s 2013 album A Year In Your Garden alongside brother Jake McCarthy. From there onward the Paris transplant’s musical output has developed a more decisively pop sensibility, culminating in the formation of W/ Love, the 2015 debut of Infinite Bisous.
Now McCarthy returns with the first glimpse of his sophomore effort Period, which as with his debut, arrives courtesy of the always free and never prosaic Tasty Morsels.
