Oakland-based Anthony Ferraro makes delicate, meditative and unassuming music as Astronauts, etc. The classically trained pianist has previously released one full length album under the moniker and this weekend sees the arrival of album #2.

Living In Symbol was created over the course of several years and features co-production from Chaz Bear a.k.a. Toro Y Moi, with whom Ferraro has collaborated in the past and continues to assume keyboard duties for in a live environment.

The LP was previously previewed with ‘The Border’, a single that employs lofty, introspective lyricism – with a striking example being “The border is vanishing at the corners / I must be getting warmer / I approach the door then it moves farther from me” – to a compositional bed of gentle and kaleidoscopic instrumentation. The remainder of the album which is available to stream below follows suit, and to great effect.
