The actor signs to Decca Records following a lifetime of playing piano by night.

Jeff Goldblum is perhaps to America what David Attenborough is to England, a national treasure. Whilst known worldwide for his illustrious acting career, what may not be common knowledge to many is that Goldblum is also an accomplished pianist.
Yesterday, as though starring in unanimously classic films such as The Fly and Jurassic Park, receiving the seal of approval from Wes Anderson and owning one of the slickest wardrobes in Los Angeles didn’t make him cool enough, Goldblum shared news that he will release his debut album through Universal Music’s famed Decca imprint in 2018.
With an affinity for jazz and after receiving classical training as a child, Goldblum has been performing live since the age of 15 where he would hone his skills in Pittsburgh’s cocktail clubs. Thereafter, coinciding with his acting career, Goldblum has been regularly gracing the live circuit of Los Angeles to perform jazz standards with his band, the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra. However it was his performance of Nat King Cole’s ‘Mona Lisa’ alongside Gregory Porter on The Graham Norton Show that brought his refined chops to the attention of Decca Records.
On the topic of Goldblum’s recent signing, Tom Lewis, head of A&R for Decca said the following:
“As far as I can tell, everyone loves Jeff Goldblum. It’s like a universal truth… He’s a fantastic jazz pianist, a great band leader and just about the loveliest man in the world. His love of jazz is infectious and whenever he plays, he makes you feel very happy.”
No further information regarding the album has been detailed at present.
In the meantime, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom releases nationally in England on June 6th and will see Goldblum reprise his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm for a third time in the science fiction film series.
