The band’s fourth LP will release on July 20th.

The Internet have announced that they will release their new album in July. On Thursday morning the band appeared on Sway In The Morning where they discussed their new album over the course of 28 minutes, revealing the follow-up to Ego Death‘s title; Hive Mind and a July 20th release date.
Elaborating on the meaning of the album’s title, producer and keyboardist Matt Martians said:
“A hive mind is a collective ego. When people are together they have a collective mindset. When we’re together we all have a common goal and we move in the same direction. The actual internet is a hive mind too.”
Elsewhere in the interview, guitarist Steve Lacy said the following when asked about how Hive Mind differs from the album that preceded it:
“I think that its just sharpened. If Ego Death was a pencil, it was like a good pencil. It was a bit dull, but I’d say that this pencil is really sharp, and we’re gonna draw nice.”

The Internet recently shared the unshakeable ‘Roll! (Burbank Funk)’, which serves as the first glimpse in to what listeners can expect of the group’s new material.
