From the first of two full-length albums releasing in 2018.

Berlin resident and California native Anton Newcombe has never been one to rest on his laurels. The singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and creative mind behind the ever-shape-shifting Brian Jonestown Massacre has released a staggering number of albums over the course of 28 years, and with no end in sight he recently announced that 2018 will see two more notches added to the bedpost.
The first of two full-length albums – Something Else – will release on June 1st whilst the eponymously titled The Brian Jonestown Massacre will release in September. Both albums were recorded in Newcombe’s Cobra Studio in Berlin and will release via his A Recordings label.
Something Else opener ‘Hold That Thought’ is available to stream now and sees the band trade out their recent exploration of electronics, imaginary French film sountracks et al for sparse instrumentation that offers breathing room to the stone cold groove that lies within.
Something else releases on June 1st via A Recordings. Pre-order the thing on white 180g vinyl here.
