The North American tour will begin in Virginia.
On the heels of a tribute to Nina Simone at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame last weekend, Ms. Lauryn Hill has announced a full North American tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her iconic first and only solo album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. The seminal singer-songwriter will perform the aforementioned album in full on all dates.
Comprising of two stints, the first begins in Virginia Beach, Virginia on July 5th and concludes in Holmdel, New Jersey on August 8th whilst the second run kicks off at Las Vegas, Nevada’s Hard Rock Hotel on September 7th and wraps up at the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis on October 5th.
Since the album’s 1998 release, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill has broken numerous records and received various accolades. The eight times platinum release debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, breaking a record for first-week sales by a female artist and served as a key album of the neo soul movement alongside Erykah Badu’s Baduizm and D’Angelo’s Voodoo. At the 41st Grammy Awards, the album grabbed an impressive five awards.
