Watch Beyoncé reunite Destiny’s Child at Coachella

The R&B singer’s headline set also featured appearances from Jay-Z and Solange.

Last night, Beyoncé made history during her headline set at Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival. Not only did her performance mark the first time that a black female artist helmed the headline spot of the Californian festival, but she also set the highest live streaming record ever. The two hour long set spanned twenty six songs from Beyoncé’s back catalogue and saw the singer backed by an expansive drum line and horn section throughout.

Furthermore, in between four outfit changes, appearances by Jay-Z and Solange, references to several Malcolm X quotes and a rendition of the Black National Anthem, Beyoncé found time – in what most would consider the highlight of the headline set – to bring Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams on-stage. Together they performed three hits from Destiny’s Child’s discography: ‘Lose My Breath’, ‘Say My Name’ and ‘Soldier’. Prior to Beyoncé’s Coachella set, Destiny’s Child had not performed their music together since the 2013 Super Bowl halftime show.
