Singer-songwriter Claire Cottrill – otherwise known to the YouTube masses as Clairo – has returned with a new single.
If you are unfamiliar with Cottrill’s work at present, you are one of a small minority. She came to prominence through YouTube in 2017 with her brand of kitschy, lo-fi bedroom made music that culminated with single ‘Pretty Girl’ and its accompanying music video. To date, the aforementioned video has garnered in excess of 8 million views over just 6 months.
New single ‘Blue Angel’ shows an immediate contrast to her previous offerings sonically, owed largely to Danny L Harle’s helming of production duties. Pitchfork notes that the two will release a collaborative EP later this year.
