Essence Festival’s 2018 lineup is an all-star cast of R&B heavyweights

Featuring headline sets from Janet Jackson and Mary J. Blige.

Essence festival have revealed the lineup for their 2018 edition. The New Orleans based festival is scheduled to take place from July 5th to July 8th and will see headline sets from R&B heavyweights Janet Jackson and Mary J. Blige.

Elsewhere, Erykah Badu, Snoop Dogg, Kelela, Miguel, The Roots, Jill Scott and Daniel Caesar are amongst those set to make appearances throughout the weekend. Talk about an all-star lineup.

Essence details itself as “the nation’s largest annual gathering of African-American musical talent featuring an unprecedented weekend of cultural celebrations, ESSENCE Empowerment Seminars and nightly musical performances.

Birthed in 1995 and held every Fourth Of July weekend, the festival has featured artists such as Prince, Lionel Richie, Diana Ross and Beyoncé in previous years.
