Triathalon’s new single is smoother than Butter

New York transplants Triathalon are back with the fourth offering from their imminently releasing album Online.

The band have undergone a stylistic shift over the last two years and ‘Butter’ sees them at their most mellow and ruminant yet. Heady drums filter in and out like a wave washing over a sandy shore. Guitars and pitch-shifted vocals harmonise. A lounge-esque piano motif plucked from the world of The Sims meanders in the ether. The song boasts countless subtleties and nuances whilst maintaining the necessary amount of breathing room.

Immerse yourself in the hazy track below and prepare yourself for the February release of what has so far shown all of the potential to be an early contender for album of the year.

Online releases on February 16th via Broken Circles.
