Unknown Mortal Orchestra preview their new album Sex & Food with the gritty American Guilt

The band have reverted back to their fuzzy beginnings.

Ruban Nielson-led band Unknown Mortal Orchestra are back. Today they share ‘American Guilt’, the first single from their forthcoming album Sex & Food.

Aside from the 2017 instalment of their annual Christmas instrumental series – the 27-minute-long epic ‘SB-05’ – ‘American Guilt’ marks the release of UMO’s first original work since 2015’s Multi Love. The song sees the band revert back to their fuzzy, lo-fi beginnings after exploring a more refined studio sound and trading out guitar as the prominent instrument in favour of synthesizers throughout Multi Love.
