Hookworms share Static Resistance from their forthcoming third LP Microshift

Hookworms have shared the music video for ‘Static Resistance’, the second offering from their forthcoming album Microshift.

The song begins with a motorik drum groove that underlines the song throughout whilst organs whirl and guitars snarl above in the vein that has become a stalwart quality of Hookworms’ sound in previous releases. The distinct difference in ‘Static Resistance’ however, is the clarity of the vocals which cut through and resonate clearer than ever before, no longer buried beneath the surface.

November saw the initial announcement of Microshift alongside first single ‘Negative Space’, which showed huge development to the band’s sound in terms of texture, instrumentation and perhaps most surprisingly, a more pop-oriented sensibility which has been likened to LCD Soundsystem and Yeasayer.

Of the music video which you can watch below, the band said “We hope it successfully illustrates the mundanity of life”.

Additionally, Hookworms announced that Virginia Wing will support across the majority of their tour itinerary to date.

Dates in support of Microshift are available below.
