The praised London jazz saxophonist’s Odyssey arrives in September.
Nubya Garcia has announced the release of a new solo album.
The successor to the London jazz saxophonist’s Mercury Prize-nominated debut album, Odyssey is scheduled for release on September 20th and was produced once more in partnership with kwes whilst drawing on collaboration from a notable roster of peers. With backing from longstanding live cohorts Joe Armon-Jones, Daniel Casimir and Sam Jones, Garcia’s forthcoming album also platforms features from Grammy winning American singer-songwriter and bassist Esperanza Spalding, American singer-producer Georgia Anne Muldrow and British singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and KOKOROKO alumnus Richie Seivwright.
Of her looming album Garcia shares,
“It represents the notion of truly being on your own path, and trying to discard all the outside noise saying you should go this way or that way.”
